Me as a super villain ?

Every evening on facebook I have an awesome 'rpg ' chat with a friend, Rodney.
yesterday however, no actual rpging happened, But, he did ask me something I'm really excited about!
He lives in The Netherlands, and there he has this irl roleplay group.
This means they actually meet up, have their own characters, and work out an entire storyline in a role playing manner. ( they don't really fight, or wear costumes. They all sit around a table the entire time and it's more like a boardgame )
My friend Rodney is the ' storyteller'. it's his job to think about plots, future events, and in this case, the villain.
He asked me what my favorite super power is. Naturally that's summoning! The idea of just creating a beast out of nothing or opening a portal to another world to let creatures slip through, is something I find truly fascinating.
So, he then told me he was going to use me as the super villain for the next IRL RPG.
Isn't that awesome ? somewhere in the Netherlands an entire group of people that have never met me, will be fighting against me ( as their characters ofcourse ) for the next months.

So, he also asked me to draw myself as a super villain, to give his group a reference of who they'll be facing. Plus, to think my powers out. My super villain name, what type of summoning I use aso....

He explained to me how these super powers work in this univers, and so how a summon would look like.

everyone in this word with superpowers has a red energy dwelling inside called quantum materia.

Therefor I made it look as if this energy is leaking from my eyes and hands, and the floating materia then takes a monster-like shape.

also I came up with this:

My super villain name will be ' mother '. since the creatures I summon are actually creatures I create myself from scratch. I think about their powers, appearance, personality aso.... Some monsters only take a few days to create, other months, and some even take years, to make them as 'perfect ' as possible.

Once created I can summon them anywhere, anytime, and they see me as their mother.
Which explains the name!

The awesome thing about being the main villain is that I can actually go all out, and so don't need to worry about being ' too powerfull' because that's kinda the idea here!

On a side note, I just love to draw with ink. drawing feels so natural when working with this material.

I hope he'll keep me updated about how the story progresses. I'm really curious to see how this ' me ' character will be like.
I'm also thinking about joining a irl rpg group in Antwerp. I know where to find them and I'm going to drop by one day to ask if there is room for a beginner.
I've already asked some people to actually start a group ourselves, and they seem pretty excited about it as well. I'll look into it a bit more!

Figurines and BJD's!

So, my room finally got a new paint job, and I got rid of everything I no longer used. My rooms looks so much bigger now, and soon my workbench for goldsmithing will be placed in my room as well.
It can't fit through the door so we'll need to lift it inside through the window.

The walls now have a grey-violet colour. and the ceiling, closet, door and frames are painted into a dirty-salmon pink. 
on paper the colour combination looked alright, it was a bit edgy though.... but still, I wanted to give it a try.
It worked out nicely! It's not a very commen colour combination but I think it looks alright.

But, this post is about my little figurine and BJD collection.
it's already getting dark so I had to use flash....it killes everything really but still. It's just to show you guys what BJD's and figurines I have.

 

Blood looks like such a creep, standing there half naked next to two young girls...headless!

I've been calling him Hookface the past few weeks. Poor guy, luckely his head is on it's way!

His clothes....are nowhere to be found sadly. all this cleaning up to get my room ready to get a makeover, kinda made me misplace some stuff, including his clothes.

And his wig...hehe... yeah I still need to order one *sigh * (we don't speak about shoes...they're a nightmare )

My two girls! Monochrome's eyes are weird in this picture though. I blame it on the flash .

I really should think about giving her a make over as well. She's so ' blank ' looking.

Or...I might just sell her, and use the money to buy a doll I'll feel more connected to.

I don't have with her what I have with Luria and Blood.... Maybe I really should consider selling her?

And our Luria is looking pissed as always. My mother is really fond of her and made her the outfit she's wearing. It's adorable.

My mom wanted to name her as well, since she hasn't though of a name yet. We call her Luria. Which is the name of the D.I.M doll sculpt.

It's crazy how amazing she poses. She makes every pose look so relaxed, I love it.

As you can see a cave troll is causing amok, luckely, the fellowship of the ring is getting some help from the one and only Vincent Valentine and Hope Estheim.

My lovely steamboy statues. This movie is a must for everyone that loves Steampunk. Steamboy got me into steampunk in the first place. The statues you see are all steampunk machinery that appear in the movie. Below them you can see my dragonball statues, they are friggin adorable by the way.

And some good old pokémon figurines ofcourse. Plus my awesome pokéball.

Because one can never spend too much money on nerdy stuff and BJDs.
I also finally managed to order my Loki figurine. He'll be getting a very special place in my room!

Yes the title refers to the amazing scene in which Loki confronts Odin.
ahum... yes... Well this blog isn't really about that scene.
IT IS, however, about Loki's oh so awesome helmet.
Which balances between rediculously looking and friggin awesome.

So, Now that my goldsmith classes are over, I have an entire day off.
So, I go shopping ?
Oh hell no!
I go to the atelier and make stuff for myself! hoeza!

So, I think you can guess what I started on.
Yes, a cute little Loki helmet!
I 'studied ' on the designs of that helmet for a while, to understand just how it was made.
And I must say it's CRAZY! however, I managed to make a little design that's simple enough to make it in the size of a pendant.
Also, I discovered that the helmet Loki wears in Thor is actually very different from the helmet in The Avengers. I never really payed much attention to it until now.
Loki's helmet in Thor is more ' knight ' looking, it's less detailed than Loki's helmet in The Avengers.
Which ofcourse, perfectly makes sense. Loki in Thor is seen standing between all the other soldiers in Asgard, and they all wear the exact same outfit as Loki ( plus helmet )
In The Avengers of course, he's dressed more like a God-king. So, ofcourse the helmet is a lot more detailed.

ANYWAY. So ofcourse, To make it possible to make, I focussed on the helmet he wears in Thor.
Yet, even that one is still a bit too difficult to make in such a small size.
However, I'll do my very best to make it look as much alike as possible.
It won't be a problem to make it recognisable though. with the horns and all.... 

So, first thing I had to ask myself was : How to start on this ! How do I make this helmet without making it too difficult for myself!
The trick is too see the helmet in rough lines. The helmet itself is actually, a square. And the base is nothing more but a simple ring! So hooray! I had my starting point, and now up to the rest!
This, is what I came up with :

I managed to see it in 9 steps. So, I've started on making this piece as well.
I'm aware I will run into some trouble along the way, for this is the first time I'm making something like this, and I'm pretty sure there are easier/better ways to get this done.
Luckely my boss is right beside me when working on this.
The part I'm most worried about is the one in which I actually make seperate pieces, that are on itself, made out of more than one part .
And then, I have to putt all those pieces together, and solder it.
however those seperate peices had some soldering done as well... So... it will get diccult to solder it nicely without ruining my previous soldering.
Plus the edges have to stay sharp! So I'll have to ' blind ' solder. It's a technique in which you place the solder underneath a piece, and so when you heat it you have to ' feel ' when the solder has melted.

Anyway, Like I've said, I have my boss right beside me to help me out when things get rough.

The base of the helmet is 20 mm on 20 mm. So it's not too tiny... ( if I made it any smaller it was going to get too difficult to make it as detailed as possible )

update! Loki drawings

So, As I've explained in my previous post.
I've been trying to draw Loki but it didn't turn the way I wanted.
So, after trying over and over again, I suddenly found myself drawing myself in a loki-ish outfit.
Because I find female bodies a lot more easy to draw, and well as a member of Loki's army I should have a drawing of myself in a Loki uniform.

At first I wanted to give myself a similar helmet.

But then I realised Loki wouldn't want a 'mortal ' to wear such a helmet that represents the gods.

And since I know my place, it would be an unrespectful thing to do!

Same for his staff aka Spear. I'm sure he wouldn't trust a mortal with it.
So, I drew myself a pair of fighting gloves, they'll be my weapon instead of Loki's spear, and they refer to Loki's helmet as well!

problem solved! and it looks pretty awesome as well!

So,  same with the cape. The cape is a symbol of the elite and the noble. Since I'm just an ordinary fangirl ( lol ) I again thought it wouldn't be very respectful toward Loki and the other Asgardians to give myself a cape.

The rest of the outfit is pretty much the same as Loki's outfit. The top is a cropped version of his vest, and the pants and boots are a 'tighter' version. The plate around my neck, shoulder and arms are a cheap ass version of what Loki wears.

The knee caps I kinda came up with myself. To give it a bit more 'combat' feel. I am one of his soldiers after all.

Here are also the drawings I made of Loki's face, to get a hang of his facial structure.
I think I made him a bit too creepy in the bottom right....
I adored drawing his more 'sweet' faces though. the Sad one felt so natural to draw though, as if Loki's face was made to look sad... ( poor guy )

now, my money was finally transfered to my paypal account.
So, I'm now trying to order my Loki figurine.
And guess what, they ask for my credit card !!

they only accept paypal that's linked to a visa card, mastercard or credit card.
And in my case it's just linked to my bank account!

And I don't know anyone  that has any of these either. ( Besides my mom but SHE MUST NOT KNOW

I'm so close! and now just because I don't have a credit card I won't be able to order my Loki figurine.

figurine obsession

I'm falling back into my figurine obsession. Back when the Lord of the rings movies came out I bought this enormous set of figurine.
I even have a cavetroll . It's crazy, and I love it so much.

I also have a large collection of Dragonball Z and GT figures. And last year on facts I bought a Vincent Valentine as well, and a few weeks ago a Hope Estheim.

But now.... I might just order the most awesome figurine ever.
It would be my first Hot toys figurine. I've always loved their work but I never really had the money to buy something from them.
But, now that I earn some money, I could actually order a Hottoys figurine!
And.... What I've been waiting for ever since The avengers movie came out finally happened!
They're making 'The Avengers ' Figurines!
And, ofcourse ...It's the Loki figure I really want!
Today they finally revealed the actual Loki figure! and he looks amazing!
They'll even be adding the muzzle and shackles!

So, Now I'm waiting for the pre-orders to start!
However I'm still not a 100% sure I'll actually be ordering this figure.
I've never spend that much money on a figure before, but this is a hot toys figure!
And friggin Tom Hiddleston as Loki!
gnnn I know my parents would kill me if they find out that I've spended that much money on a figure....
And that's really the only thing that's stopping me from pre-ordering.

When I pre-order it will be cheaper... so if I wait to long I might regret it.
Plus it's a limited edition!
Oh dear lord I need it so hard! It would look amazing next to my PS 3D television O_O ( yes I already have a spot reserved for him )

Just look at how realistic his face is! It's amazing!
And it looks like he poses easily as well!

The Darkness II, plus tonberry hunt in FF XIII-2

So, yesterday I finally bought ' The Darkness II" for PS3.
Plus, I managed to get my hands on a limited edition as well, lucky me, because they're all sold out.

I get extra features, including a free download of the first and second volume of the original comics.
Plus, a lovely poster....
and ofcourse, more game features.

up until now I haven't start to play the actual game yet. however, I did play the demo yesterday before I bought it.
I must say, I normally don't like shooters that much. ( to be honest, it's because I suck at those )
However, The Darkness II really surprised me! Even though I'll have to practice a lot to actually get good at it, I really love the gameplay.
Controlling the darkness while shooting, plus making sure you don't step into bright light...The demo was so much fun and exciting!
I don't have to go to work tomorrow and friday, so, I'll have plenty of PS3 time.

I have this feeling this game will keep me from leaving the house for a while.
I haven't played anything else but Final Fantasy XIII-2 this past month.
And even though I'm such a huge FF fan, I'm kinda dissapointed about XIII-2.
The reviews said it would be so much better than XIII.
But...I liked XIII a whole lot more than XIII-2.
I don't really understand why some even dislike XIII. But then again I know my taste in games tends to differ from other gamers.

So, now I'm just training like crazy in XIII-2 for the moment because I really want to tame a tonberry. However it manages to KO my party before I get to bring it's healthbar to zero.

So, if I get bored I'll now have The Darkness II to get my mind off that friggin Tonberry.

It's one of the tiniest, cutest and less dangerous looking monsters in FF. However, don't be fooled by it's cuteness. This creature is a nightmare, and I'm planning on taming it.

It went better than I thought It would go. I'm sure I'll pass.
