Monday is from now on - bellydance day

Yesterday I had my first oriental dance lesson in " De ingang " in Ghent.
De ingang is a small dance studio yet there's a huge variety of dancestyles you can learn there.
I ofcourse, chose for the oriental classes. There I'll learn the techniques of several oriental dances, all of them have one thing in common : Bellydance.
Ofcourse ATS will always be closest to my heart. But my technique when it comes to bellydancing isn't good enough to get as good in ATS as I want to be.
Therefor, I must learn to bellydance before I can do quality ATS.

Something amazing about these classes is our teacher. A MALE bellydancer.
I was amazed by his skills, And I'm so glad I'll be learning from him.

Ofcourse I was a bit afraid at first. My first lesson was actually...Already the fifth lesson. What if I won't be able to catch up with the rest ? I mean... When you miss 4 lessons in ATS you're pretty screwed.
Luckely for me, The things I know from ATS already gave me a bit of a head start. And so there are only some small details I have to work on in order to catch up.
He said my technique was good, and with some intense training I can get really far.
I'm already looking forward to next week!

So, Now there's oriental dance on monday
and ATS on thursday.
I love it so much!

Bellydance veils

The first thing I want to do if I have more free time, Is to train with objects and extra's to bellydance with.
There are so many things one can dance with, but one of my favourites are the many variations of veils!

First step would be making them ofcourse, and my sweet mother is willing to help me with those, for she has dyed silk herself before.
You have veils on fans...on chains...on hooks.... or just by themselves.
Anyway they're gorgeous te dance with!
The first veils on my list are :
a fire veil!
A smoke veil
And an 'evil eyes ' veil.

It sucks that I'm spending all my money and time on my jewellery collection.
If I had more money I could just order those veils, And if I had time I could get to making those veils.

*sigh* Maybe I need to play on the lottery ? Or find myself a rich husband :') ( like my mom always tells me )
Having money doesn't make one happy...but it does make things a lot easier.

fire dancing photoshoot

I absolutely love fire dancing in combination with oriental dancing...But who doesn't ?
So, I contacted someone who's a pro in fire stunts.
I explained to him the plans I have for a fire- photoshoot and he is willing to help me out !
As we were talking he asked me if I was interested in learning the skills for free, but in return I had to join his fire-crew. He said they were still one lady short. And it was a great extra that I could bellydance.
ofcourse I told him my skills in bellydance are very basic...And if he really wants a bellydancer he'll have to wait a few years !
However he still said he wanted to talk about it face to face, and discuss all the possibilities.
So, I'll meet with him this sunday!
I'd love to train in fire skills, I get to choose different ' toys ' to train with.
I hope the fire fan is one of them, if not, I'll train with something similar so I can make one myself later on.
But, I'm getting ahead of myself. I'll be so busy with my jewellery...I have no idea if I'll find the time to train.
I'm already spending my free time on my ATS ( American tribal style ) training and I'm not going to give that up.
Not to mention I'm going to take extra bellydancing lessons as well in the weekends.
oh dear....Why is there so much to do yet so little time ?

Anyway, all I have to do is find a location and a photographer for the fire shoot.
Ofcourse the fire performer won't be helping out for free, so I hope the photographer will agree with sharing the costs....
Let the search begin!

Scarf pin and other

So, As soon as my scarf pin is done, I'll start on my little jewellery collection.
These will be for sale! I'll open up an etsy account and upload some pictures of them there.
I've given myself a deadline, which is January 1st.

But FIRST. I've got to get this scraf pin over with.
I tried to make a creepy-fantasy like eye.
The eyelids and pin are silver, the iris is copper, because I'll be enameling that one.
Once it's done I'll take pictures and post it here! promise.

Something maybe not so interesting, I started stretching both my earlobes.
because I'd love to make things like this :

Because I want to try out my own jewellery before I start selling it. (mainly because I think it's gorgeous ofcourse )
I'll go to 8 MM max, to keep it safe. Then, If I take out my stretches and give my ears the time, They'll go back to their original size.
I doubt I'll ever do that though, I find stretch-jewellery a lot more beautiful than average earjewellery.
I also love how Zoe Jakes and Rachel brice wear their stretches.
They put several loops through their tunnels, isn't it gorgeous ?

I'll have so much fun making stuff like this, I'm sure. You can go crazy with these things!
However I'm only at 2,5 for the moment... So I still have a few millimeters to go before I can wear awesome things like these.

It's finally here!

The "Distant Worlds " concert.
Which is actually an orchestra that plays Final fantasy music.
They'll be performing tomorrow in London, in the royal Albert Hall.
I've been a huge final fantasy fan for as long as I can remember. And tomorrow me and all the other european fans will be celebrating it's 25th anniversary.

There's so much about final fantasy to love....It's crazy how talented the Final fantasy team is. They made final fantasy into an art really. Everyone that knows final fantasy will agree that it became more than just a game.
Ofcourse, the music is one of those things that makes it so unique.
It makes everything so real, Fantasy or not, the music can pull you in and take you on a wild rollercoaster ride, or bring you to tears... The music makes you feel as if those lands really aren't that distant...
Once I heard there was this Orchestra touring all over the world playing only final fantasy music, I ofcourse started to stalk it's website, hoping that one day they'd visit Europe.

Luckely they did! and now I'll be going with a small group of friends to see the concert.
Even though the concert is taking place in London, I'm sure the music will take us to places far away.... The gorgeous worlds of Final Fantasy.
Just thinking about it gets me all excited. I won't be sleeping tonight that's for sure.

I already know a few songs will make me freak, like Liberi Fatali, One winged angel, Medley, bombing mission aso...
Actually almost every single one will make me freak.
And then there are those that WILL make me cry.
Like the main Final Fantasy theme ofcourse, and To Zanarkand....Aerith's theme

I can't wait! I'll be leaving early tomorrow so I'll be going to bed in a few hours.
to try and get some sleep.
