So, my Phosphene ( Blood by IOS ) is still far from finished.
I've got wild plans for this boy, which involve a lot of my goldsmithing skills.
Yesterday I made him a wig. It's the first one I've ever made and yeah... it shows! It's a lot more puffy than I wanted it to be, but oh well.... it's a start! He looks cute with it actually :') ( which was NOT the idea! )
also, let's not talk about my photography skills, but I made a few pictures of him in my garden today.
A mind consumed by personification. A whole new view, a whole new world, awakens before her eyes.

Figurines and BJD's!
So, my room finally got a new paint job, and I got rid of everything I no longer used. My rooms looks so much bigger now, and soon my workbench for goldsmithing will be placed in my room as well.
It can't fit through the door so we'll need to lift it inside through the window.
The walls now have a grey-violet colour. and the ceiling, closet, door and frames are painted into a dirty-salmon pink.
on paper the colour combination looked alright, it was a bit edgy though.... but still, I wanted to give it a try.
It worked out nicely! It's not a very commen colour combination but I think it looks alright.
But, this post is about my little figurine and BJD collection.
it's already getting dark so I had to use flash....it killes everything really but still. It's just to show you guys what BJD's and figurines I have.
Blood looks like such a creep, standing there half naked next to two young girls...headless!
I've been calling him Hookface the past few weeks. Poor guy, luckely his head is on it's way!
His clothes....are nowhere to be found sadly. all this cleaning up to get my room ready to get a makeover, kinda made me misplace some stuff, including his clothes.
And his wig...hehe... yeah I still need to order one *sigh * (we don't speak about shoes...they're a nightmare )
My two girls! Monochrome's eyes are weird in this picture though. I blame it on the flash .
I really should think about giving her a make over as well. She's so ' blank ' looking.
Or...I might just sell her, and use the money to buy a doll I'll feel more connected to.
I don't have with her what I have with Luria and Blood.... Maybe I really should consider selling her?
And our Luria is looking pissed as always. My mother is really fond of her and made her the outfit she's wearing. It's adorable.
My mom wanted to name her as well, since she hasn't though of a name yet. We call her Luria. Which is the name of the D.I.M doll sculpt.
It's crazy how amazing she poses. She makes every pose look so relaxed, I love it.
With Lord of the rings figurines, Final fantasy figurines, Steamboy statues, Dragonball Z/GT statues and a few pokémon. Because I regret nothing
As you can see a cave troll is causing amok, luckely, the fellowship of the ring is getting some help from the one and only Vincent Valentine and Hope Estheim.
My lovely steamboy statues. This movie is a must for everyone that loves Steampunk. Steamboy got me into steampunk in the first place. The statues you see are all steampunk machinery that appear in the movie. Below them you can see my dragonball statues, they are friggin adorable by the way.
And some good old pokémon figurines ofcourse. Plus my awesome pokéball.
Because one can never spend too much money on nerdy stuff and BJDs.
I also finally managed to order my Loki figurine. He'll be getting a very special place in my room!

Blood's faceup!
My BJD, blood by Immortality of soul, has been staying over with Lotta for the past month.
( uh...I kinda beheaded him though. His body is still right here with me. He looks creepy with that metal hook instead of his head. )
Yesterday I got the news from Lotta his second faceup was done!
You see, she had done one before but we both agreed that it wasn't what we wanted.
So, she started all over again, and this time it looks amazing.
I explained to her what I wanted, but since she's the faceup artist and has more experience than me in that field, I gave her some freedom on how she wanted to translate my idea to the actual faceup.
What I wanted was his eyebrows and eyelashes to be white, she could add subtile grey touches if she wanted to.
A bright, white line on the top eyelid, thin, but it had to be a little extreme, otherwise it would fade away between all the other white elements. A red line on the inside of the eyelids, Red pops up extremely when combined with white, so she could do with that what she believed what was best to not take the attention away from all the other parts of the face up.
The eyelids itself are molded pretty deep, which I believe is lovely, she could accentuate that by adding lighter and darker parts, accentuating the shape of the eyelids.
And last but not least, very soft looking lips, with that i mean no full pouty looking lips, with gloss and lots of colour. they had to be subtile, manly.
I also gave her white eyelashes to glue on the top eyelids, they were a little too long for my taste... she told me should could fix it, so that made me really happy.
in the end, the first faceup she send me was rather....not what I had expected. The eyelids were way too dark, black even, while I had skincolour in mind. The red line and the white line were looking way too agressive, and the grey eyebrows yet black eyelashed made everything look unfinished.

so, we had a chat about what was wrong with the faceup, what was good, what needed changes aso...
So, she tried all over again, and I must say..... I'm REALLY pleased with the end result. It's even better than what I expected it would be! It's so him as well.... this faceup fits his personality SO well! and it brings out it's gorgeous facial structure just perfectly! I'm so madly in love with him right now...I can't wait to have him home here with me, reunite him with his body ( hehehehe ) and take a lot of pictures!
I'll finally get to call him Phosphene as well....

Face-up!
So, I went to Leuven today to bring Blood's head to the faceup artist, Lotta.
She noticed I was so nervous, and so she was so kind to let me stay a little and watch as she did the first layers of his faceup.
I mean, someone is drawing on your doll's head.... It's rather nerve wrecking.
I know you can hardly see anything on this picture.
But if you see the before and then this, you'd notice the subtile blushing on the cheeks, ears and eye sockets.
Also, the lips here have a more healthy colour and she already placed the base of the eyebrows.
gnnn... I'll have to miss him for a while now! She first has to finish a face up for someone else's doll...But hey! As long as the faceup is done well I don't really care how long it takes. ( the other doll she has to paint is from the same company as where I bought Blood. The odds of this are SO small, since it's such an un-known company! It was ' Jack ' The boy doll with the cat face )
Especially because she said his eye sockets are tricky to paint, because they are very deep where they meet the nose, and so the paint always gathers up in that spot.
So, when working on the eyes she has to be very patient and do one small part at a time.
God I'm so curious to see the result!
I loved the look she got in her eyes when she took his head out of the box and saw him for the first time.
" What a gorgeous mold! "
I love it when someone so experienced with these dolls compliments me on my taste in molds... Especially since she only buys smaller, kid BJDs.
For her to like a doll of this size is rare!
While he's gone I'll order him some clothes, a wig and shoes.
She gave me some very interesting sites that have clothing in his size.
( it's not easy to find those, because he's from a non commercial one-woman company )
And, what also isn't so easy to find is quality clothing that isn't too expensive.
I won't be paying $ 260 for a clothing set....

And so Blood becomes Phosphene
I'm actually so nervous for tomorrow!
Blood is going to get his faceup!
He's finally going to be one step closer to my story's main character, Phosphene.
You have no idea how long I've been looking for a male BJD, to turn into one of the characters of my fantasy story i'm working on.
I went from doll company to doll company yet NEVER found the Male BJD I was looking for.
Meanwhile Milinda, a good friend of mine, had already found 3. and ordered all three of them as well.
After months of looking I kinda gave up on it, and decided to make another character.
Vincent Valentine, a character out of Final Fantasy 7.
I had no idea where to look for him, so, I made a post on DOA, asking people to help me out to find the perfect mold.
One of them, Told me to have a look at Immortality of Soul. A one-woman-doll company that only makes male bjds. But unique sculpts and expressions as if they're not from this world.
It's there I saw Blood.
People that have BJDs as well, will recognise this feeling, seeing your perfect BJD.... You stop breathing and you KNOW that doll was made for you.
I immediatly forgot about my Vincent plans, Bloods expression, facial structure aso.... they fitted the athmosphere of my story so well. It was like he walked straight out of it!
Sadly, He was a limited edition and was already sold out.
My heart broke... and for the next month I visited the IOS website to look at the pictures of Blood everyday , hoping she might re-make him again one day.
And, like it was a sign from heaven, she announced that Blood was going to be re-sold, yet again, limited.
I had to be sure I was ready as soon as she opened the orderings.
Sadly, I was at work then, and I couldn't get near a computer.
Thanks to Milinda though! I managed to get my hands on one!
She ordered one for me as soon as the ordering started.
The next day they were sold out.
He was stuck at the postal office for an entire month, it drove me crazy!
But once he arrived, I was soooo happy!
And then.... the box opening begins.
It's the most nerve wrecking moment of all! You've always seen the doll on pictures but never irl.
Who knows... he might not look like on the pictures at all!
Also because he was completely nude, plus no faceup, or eyes, or wig....
Once you open the box you're so afraid you'll be dissapointed!
But, as soon as I saw Blood's nude face, I was in love. He looks even better than I had hoped!
Not to mention his body was so flexible and easy to pose!
So....tomorrow I'll have to miss his head for about a month!
But once he's back I'll finally get to name him Phosphene!
He'll look amazing I'm sure! seriously just look at that face.... no way it can go wrong with a face like that.
